There’s a distinctive, energising sense of excitement and possibility about Somerset Council, and it’s a uniquely rewarding place to be a senior leader. Good housing and good health have never been more important in building flourishing communities. While we’re making excellent progress in a number of areas, there’s always more to do. Priority areas for this portfolio include building on our recent successful investment into Adult Social Care, developing a comprehensive strategic plan for housing, and capitalising on our excellent
partner relationships. It’s great to be in a position where we can confidently look ahead to the medium and longer term, exploring the options for innovation, redesign and even better provision in the future.

Candidates will bring experience, energy, optimism and the deft interpersonal skills to move us forward, faster, from day one.
